Every little girl dreams of her life as a teenager. When I was a eight, my oldest brother was 16, the age where he started going to parties all the time. Eight years later I still remember the pink invitation he got in the mail inviting him to a friends sweet 16. It was hot pink and glittery, and her party was HUGE. Since that day, I thought about what my sweet sixteenth would look like. Both my brothers just got things like a shirt for their sixteenth and had big parties for their 18th. In my house, we stop having parties around ten years old, so I wasn’t sure if I would have my sweet 16 but I still wondered how I would plan it. When I was about 14-15 I tried to disassociate myself from the whole girly thing and stuck to hiking or camping but lately, I found myself back into monograms and cute clothes, so I was conflicted about what to do for my party, stuck between two opposite personalities. I finally decided on doing a bonfire in the backyard, but every decoration was pink and gold and sparkly, I loved it.

We had a sweets tabel in the formal dining room and I decorated the walls with funny pictures from my childhood. My friends thought they were silly and I loved seeing them.
I had to have a cute place for my friends to take pictures! I got these streamers and taped them to the top of the wall in my kitchen, and put some gold balloons with it. I got mine from Party City and the wall was a huge hit!
Here’s just one super silly picture my good friend, Becca, and I took! Love her so much!
I didn’t get a picture with everyone who came to my party, people were coming and going, but I’m so thankful I have such great friends, and I’m glad I got a chance to have a party!
My outfit in the pictures: White top from fedora, ripped jeans from target, a pink necklace from Apricot Lane with brown boots from DSW.
